Senior Systems Tester

We have an excellent permanent opportunity based in Melbourne for a Senior Systems Tester to join our APAC engineering test team. As a Tester you will be responsible for preparing, coordinating and executing test activities for Kapsch mission critical system infrastructure ensuring the highest levels of quality.

Your responsibilities:

• Execute on-site acceptance tests (OAT), system integration tests (SIT) and operational readiness tests (ORT).

• Create, maintain and update testing documentation in accordance with project requirements.

• Define, support and execute test scenarios, test cases and test data for each project and business requirement.

• Identify potential test issues, manage system defects, and drive corrective actions through to resolution with internal and external stakeholders.

• Lead and execute test cases, record results and produce high-quality test reports.

• Plan and organize daily testing activities for own tasks and small-scale projects.

• Support the test manager in planning and organizing daily testing activities for the wider team.

• Support the definition of the testing strategy and scope in line with project and business requirements.

• Communicate test progress, issues (software, hardware and resources) and risks to the test manager on a regular basis.

• Report project-related testing activities and take direction from the relevant project manager and test manager as required.

• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

• Address customer and stakeholder queries related to system behaviour through data analysis, ensuring alignment with documented requirements.

• Track, manage and report on installation activities, technical project matters, defects and issues, both internally to management and externally to customers.

• Provide testing support to developers, internal teams, project managers, service delivery managers and customers, including BAU releases, upgrades and end-to-end acceptance testing phases.

• Support the review and preparation of operational and system maintenance training materials.

• Gain and maintain domain knowledge across multiple solutions offered by the company.

• Lead more than one small-scale project with minimal support from the test manager.

• Support sales and bid activities as required, in collaboration with the test manager.

• Travel as required and directed by the test manager.

Your profile:

• Availability for onsite work.

• Tertiary Degree engineering or related qualification.

• Proven working experience in testing in high reliability systems covering all areas of the testing lifecycle in an engineering, automation or construction industry.

• Detailed understanding of testing methodologies, testing life cycle and the purpose and requirements for various types of testing e.g. Unit Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Regression Testing, etc.

• Understanding on System /Test Development Life Cycle and Defect management process.

• Excellent skills and knowledge on writing Test Plans, Test scenario identification(Business cases), Test case writing, Test Execution, defect life cycle and test reporting.

• IT competent.

• Experience with Testing and ticketing management tools Jira/Zepher/ALM.

• Excelled knowledge on Testing techniques / terms / methodologies 

• Current Australian full driver’s license.
